Shinrin-Yoku (Forest-bathing) Location 1

Updated: Oct 30, 2019

As Sydney siders we are incredibly fortunate to have so many parks/ovals and bush all around us. I would love to share some of my favourite places for a forest-bathing.

Location 1 : Georges Heights (Headland park), Mosman.

This is a one of the locals favourite places for the morning run, cycling, bush walking and picnics. It has stunning Sydney Harbour view and plenty of trees around.

There is a paved path in a bush along side of the middle head road towards to lovely Burnt Orange cafe and that is where I love to have a forest-bathing anytime of the day. After the walk, I love having my coffee at Burnt Orange Cafe :)

Morning sun light sparkles between trees welcoming you into the magic forest

I It's only a short walk down to Burnt Orange cafe and the walk is very easy. Most of trees dominated in the bush is Angophora costata, which is my favourite. When you visit at the end of Spring, you will see a tapestry of beautiful red colours on the Angophora bark.

You can take a slow walk, or sit on a rock and stay for a while by listening the sounds of birds (try to spot pretty Finches ) or just feel a nice breeze from the ocean as the headland faces the water.

You will the feel warm sun light emerging through the trees as though it was destined just for you... all the amazing elements of forest-bathing are there, waiting for you so you can take the time to chill for a short while and recharge your battery !

Best way to cool you down after the walk - sitting on a bench and feel the fresh sea breeze.
