Shinrin-Yoku (Forest-bathing) Location 2 – Cumberland State Forest

Updated: Oct 30, 2019

I heard from one of my friends about the place called Cumberland State Forest which is close to Sydney and that was such a surprising and valuable discovery !

Within the forest there are several tracks all starting from a pleasant café (Another surprise!) and a well-stocked nursery.

What I found really unique was an educational short circuit walk near the café where you can learn about the trees on the track. I started my adventure on the circuit and thoroughly enjoyed the walk, mainly because the trees have signs that describe their name, type, age and other facts that enriched my experience.

I continued my adventure to the next track. Once there, I noticed tall eucalypts forest was waiting for me and it was such a pleasant surprise.

I walked slowly and tried to discover the hidden uniqueness of the trees, as I normally do. I hear birds, I take the time to admire the pretty native bush flowers as well as taking photos to capture the precious feelings and moments. It is like time stops for a while and the moment is ever present, perhaps I could call it a walking meditation.

Tall Eucalypts trees welcomes you.

You can easily spend a couple of hours in the forest. The green of Australian forest sooth my energy and smell of eucalypts makes me so relaxed. Cumberland State Forest is definitely one of my favourite place for Shin-Rin-Yoku (Forest bathing).
